While Jebel Ali was once quite an isolated stretch of land, development of recreational facilities, community living spaces and shopping centres has transformed it into a urban centre for work and living.
Downtown Jebel Ali is a mixed-use development located between the Dubai Waterfront and Techno Park, spanning an area of 200 hectares. With a keen focus on sustainable development, the project aims to tap into the next generation of urban design.
It will consist of four zones with over 300 buildings, most of which will be residential. Each zone has three distinct districts: an urban centre which serves as a business and entertainment hub; the Trellis district with mid-rise buildings, parks and plazas; and the Medina with Arabian-inspired courtyards and quiet cobbled streets.
