To forever imprint the contribution of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai to the development of the emirate, Dubai Holding will construct a tower with His Highness’ fingerprint at the base of the building.
Burj Jumeirah, a 550-meter tower, with the base shaped in the form of the fingerprint of Vice President of the UAE and the ruler of Dubai, will be the last building defining the skyline of Dubai.
The building, oval in front, will be smooth on its sides and as if cut into two halves in the middle, which meet again at the top. Judging by the initial renderings, although there is no official confirmation for this yet, the fingerprint of the ruler of Dubai will present something like an oval-shaped decorative fountain pool around the building, and the lines on this "fingerprint" will be seen only from the upper observation decks.
As planned by Dubai Holding, the futuristic design of just another tower with the word Burj (“tower” in Arabic) defining its name will complete the ensemble of three major architectural dominants of Dubai, along with the world’s highest (so far) Burj Khalifa and the seven-star hotel Burj Al Arab.
Burj Jumeirah will be located just in front of Burj Al Arab in
According to the Dubai Media Office, the 550-meter Burj Jumeirah will have several observation decks, from which a panoramic view of the city will be seen. According to the developer, the design of the building is inspired by the “harmonious ripples of the UAE’s desert sand dunes and the blurry outlines of its oases”.
The facade of the building will be equipped with digital screens that will be used for various occasions and celebrations.
The architectural firm, which will be engaged in the construction of the building, has not yet been determined, but the developer has declared that construction will begin immediately, starting from the Phase I, which, according to the plan, will be put handed over as early as in 2023.
The larger Downtown Jumeirah project will include residential properties, offices, and hotel units. “Upon completion, the area will include both residential and commercial buildings and hotels, as well as retail stores,” a Dubai Holding said in a statement.
“The launch of Burj Jumeirah in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, who has left his fingerprint on the project, is a confirmation of the critical role this development plays in Dubai’s vision for the future," said Abdulla Al Habbai, Chairman of Dubai Holding.
“The entire Downtown Jumeirah area will not only serve the needs of residents who are looking to live in cohesive and connected communities, but will also enhance Dubai’s tourism by adding another icon,” he added.
