The first month of the year came to end and Dubai developers start revealing some ace in the hole projects. One of the largest Dubai real estate development companies Emaar has finally disclosed some details about new iconic building which is about to fit in Dubai skyline in Dubai Creek Harbour area.
The project of a needle-shaped tower was approved the other day by the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The height and the name of the new iconic skyscraper are kept secret, but according to the developer, the tower will be comparable with other major world’s city symbols like the Eiffel Tower in Paris and Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
The project had been designed by Santiago Calatrava Valls, a well-known Spanish designer and architect, the author of many futuristic buildings around the world designed in the bio-tech aesthetics, including the Olympic Sports Complex in Athens, Montjuic Communications Tower in Barcelona, Spire Tower skyscraper in Chicago and many others.
Dubai’s tower will be connected directly to the Dubai Creek Harbour island district with 4.5 km boardwalk with shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities, the developer said in a statement.
Dubai Creek Harbour project itself, which is being actively developed, is a residential and commercial property mega development with an area of 6 square kilometers in total. It is two times larger than the area of the Dubai central district Downtown Dubai.
