In parallel with the most notable event in the Middle East real estate industry Cityscape Global real estate exhibition, Dubai will host Cityscape Awards for Emerging Markets, a contest, in which a number of projects will get highest awards in thirteen categories of the competition.
Developers from 15 different countries, including the United Arab Emirates will compete for the awards. According to Holley Chant, Executive Director of KEO International Consultants and a member of the jury, the level of energy independence and self-sufficiency, i.e. that what is called sustainability will be the key important factor to win in the competition, so many Dubai projects have a better chance of winning, for sustainable technologies are being introduced today at a heightened pace in Dubai.
In addition, Holly Chant also noted the "fantastic" quality of all projects, represented at this year's competition, which supports the suggestion that developers started focusing on comfort and functionality. "Projects seemed to really understand that the importance of a sustainable building is not just about being green, but also about serving as a great project from a real estate fundamentals' point of view”, she said.
Cityscape Awards contestants will compete for victory in such categories as the best Commercial Building, the best Mixed Use Project, the best Leisure and Hospitality project, the best Residential Community, the best Retail building, etc.
This year Cityscape Global itself, which will be held in Dubai for the 14th time, attracted a record number of participants from different countries. And Cityscape Awards competition, which this year will take place on the first day of the exhibition, on September 8, will help identify the most interesting projects and most notable developers participating in the event. Cityscape Global will be held September 8-10, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, while the Cityscape Awards competition will be held at the Conrad Hotel on September 8.
