It's not a secret that Dubai is a home to a great number of not just tall, but super-tall buildings 300-plus-meters in height. And, of course, the world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa is also located here. Moreover, the new world’s tallest tower is going to be constructed in Dubai, too. As of January this year, Dubai has the largest number out of 100 world tallest buildings.
Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has appreciated the efforts of the Dubai real estate developers giving three of the Top-5 places in the list of the best skyscraper constructors to local companies.
They are Emaar Properties — the number one skyscraper developer in the world, as well as Emirates, and Tameer Holding Company. It’s needless to say much about one of the most important Dubai master developers Emaar Properties, who built Burj Khalifa and has recently announced about the foundation being laid for the new world’s tallest building — the 928-meter 'The Tower' in Dubai Creek Harbour scheduled for completion in 2020. Imexre.com has recently reported the details about Emaar’s intention to break the record of the UAE’s neighbor, the Saudi developer behind another tower being built in Saudi Arabia and claimed to become the new world’s tallest.
Two other Dubai skyscraper constructors and Top 5 participants are Emirates and Tameer companies responsible for construction of the world’s tallest hotel, the 355-meter JW Marriott Marquis Dubai Hotel, and the world's tallest residential building — the 414-meter Princess Tower in Dubai, respectively.
By the number of super-tall buildings Dubai has left behind such large and fast-growing global centers like New York, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. There are 15 super-tall buildings in Dubai today, while New York and Shenzhen only have 7 of them each, and Hong Kong has 5. At the same time, Dubai is clearly not going to stop. Three other Dubai developers — Meydan, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre and RP Global have announced plans to build some more super-tall residential and commercial buildings in Dubai in the near future.
