The new shopping center Al Khail Avenue, which is being built by the Dubai master developer Nakheel in Jumeirah Village area, will be stuffed with shops of different brands, brought together under one roof by Al Tayer Group, the leading trading conglomerate in the UAE.
Currently, Al Khail Avenue shopping center is being constructed near Al Khail Road in the east of Jumeirah Village Triangle residential community. In total, the mall will feature about 350 shops, a multi-screen cinema, cafes, restaurants and ample parking for 4,400 cars. The center will open its doors to the first customers as early as in 2018.
Under the terms of agreement between two parties, the companies represented by Al Tayer Group, are going to rent about 5,000 square meters of commercial space in the new center.
The need for infrastructure development in the area and, above all, the need for construction of new shopping centers that meet everyday needs of the residents in such neighboring areas as Mirdif, the Palm, Sports City, Jumeirah Village Triangle and Circle were recently actualized by Craig Plumb, the head of research at JLL analytical agency.
“With the population in areas such as Mirdif, the Palm, Sports City, Jumeirah Village Triangle and Circle increasing in line with new residential development, there is a need to provide more local or convenience retailing to service their day-to-day requirements,” he said.
According to JLL, at least 219 million square meters of real estate will be rented out in Dubai before the end of 2017, including commercial spaces. Before the end of 2018 Nakheel alone plans to bring 11.2 million square meters of commercial property to this sector of Dubai real estate market due to the construction of the 10,430 new stores.
