The second tallest building after the Burj Khalifa will be handed over in the nearest future in Dubai.

National Engineering Bureau (NEB) has announced work on the construction of the second tallest Dubai tower Marina 101 to be completed soon.

Managing director of NEB Jamil Jadallah said residential part of the project is being currently under construction, while the hotel part is already fully built up with just few final touches in the interior furnishing to be finished.

Marina 101, which is about to have 427 meters in height after completion, was initially planned for handover in 2012, but the developer then faced unforeseen difficulties with finding a hotel operator for the hotel part of the project. As a result, a world-known hotel chain Hard Rock Hotel will manage Marina 101, thus the tower will have not only a hotel under the famous brand, but also a signature restaurant on the 33rd floor, as well as a café and a 360 degrees viewing deck at Hard Rock Café & Lounge with views of the Dubai's skyline at the 101th floor of the building.

As imexre.com wrote in February 2015, Sheffield Holdings, the developer behind the project, promised to hand it over into operation in the second or third quarter of 2016. Thus, this time the developer was finally able to keep its promise after a four-year delay.

Marina 101 project is a 101-story skyscraper with 1.68 million sq f of internal floor area. First 32 floors will be occupied with a five-star Hard Rock Hotel, while fully furnished residential apartments will take all the other floors. Homebuyers were offered 252 exclusive one bedroom apartments, 204 two-bedroom apartments and 42 three bedroom apartments in the residential part of Marina 101. Also, eight penthouses are located at levels 97 to 100 of the building. Five restaurants and retail units are situated at the tower’s base podium.
