One of Dubai's largest developers Nakheel plans to expand its hospitality portfolio with a new 550-room resort in Deira, which is going to be constructed in collaboration with Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand’s leading hotel operator.
New beachfront hospitality complex with its own water park will be located on the Deira islands in Dubai. This development is going to be the first hospitality project managed by Centara in the UAE. Currently, the brand operates 67 hotels around the world, including the Middle East.
Deira hospitality complex by Centara and Nakheel will be located in close proximity to the Deira Night Market and Deira Mall, having about 6,400 stores, restaurants and cafes between them.
This is the third joint venture agreement for hotels in the area of Deira signed by Nakheel this year. The developer’s portfolio also includes hotels and serviced apartment complexes on the island of Palm Jumeirah, in Dragon City, as well as in Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai.
Besides, Nakheel is in charge for constructing 1800 new hotel units in Deira through joint ventures with other international partners, such as RIU, the Spanish hotel brand, and Minor Hotel Group Thai operator.
Nakheel Chairman Ali Rashid Lootah said: “We are committed to partnering with reputable international hotel brands to bring new tourism concepts to Dubai in line with the Government of Dubai’s tourism vision.”
With the creation and development of the manmade Deira islands Dubai coastline will increase by 40 km, including 21 km of beachfront added.
