The AED150 million waterfront attraction is set to be completed by mid-2016. Dubai-based master developer Nakheel has signed the construction contract for The Boardwalk, a new AED150 million waterfront attraction that will run the full 11km length of Palm Jumeirah’s crescent, it said in a press statement on Sunday.
Emirates 24/7 reported that the developer has appointed Overseas AST Company to build The Boardwalk, one of several new destination projects underway at Palm Jumeirah. Work will begin by the end of this month, with completion in mid-2016.
The Boardwalk will transform Palm Jumeirah's 11km protective breakwater into a destination for walking, shopping and dining. It includes an East and West Pier – each stretching 100 metres out to sea – featuring glass-encased cafés and restaurants with views of The Palm, Arabian Gulf and the Dubai skyline.
